At Paphos airport, after returning to Cyprus from abroad, he was arrested by the police for a drug case. Specifically, the Police made a fourth arrest, regarding the large quantity of drugs, seized on August 21, 2024, in Limassol. He is a 21-year-old resident of Limassol who was wanted by the police to facilitate investigations into this case.
The drugs were found on the evening of August 21, in a car parked in an open area in Limassol. Specifically, inside the vehicle were found and seized, about 10 kilos of cannabis, 60 kilos of king gummies (lozenges that appear to contain narcotics), about half a kilogram of cannabis resin, 200 ecstasy pills, 150 grams of cocaine and other small quantities of narcotics.
On the same day, to facilitate interrogations, the 38-year-old owner of the vehicle was arrested, while police examinations revealed testimony against two 21-year-olds and a 23-year-old.
The first 21-year-old was arrested on August 22 under a court warrant and taken into custody to facilitate interrogations, while the 23-year-old was arrested and detained on August 29.
The second 21-year-old was found last night at Paphos airport after returning to Cyprus from abroad. He was arrested under a court warrant and detained to facilitate interrogations.

Police have arrested two young Greek Cypriots in connection with a shooting in a residential area.
The two 23-year-olds were arrested yesterday after videos surfaced on social media showing the youths firing shotguns into the air during a party at a wedding ceremony held on August 24 in the area of the village of Mesogi.
Both face charges of transporting and using shotguns within a residential area.

A case concerning the naturalisation programme of ten legal and natural persons was registered before the Nicosia District Court.
The trial was reportedly referred to the Assize Court on October 30. These are eight individuals and two legal entities, who face offences including conspiracy to defraud and corruption.
In total they face 59 charges. Among the eight individuals is said to be a former minister.

In the framework of the cooperation between the Cyprus Police and the Customs Authorities, in order to identify persons importing drugs into the Republic of Cyprus, an 18-year-old woman, who arrived from abroad, was stopped yesterday morning for a check at Larnaka airport.
A search of her travel baggage found 43 nylon packages, containing 25kg and 612g of cannabis, resulting in the 18-year-old being arrested for flagrant offences (she was later re-arrested on a court warrant).
As part of an investigation into the case, testimony emerged against a 29-year-old man who was arrested yesterday on the basis of a court warrant and taken into custody.

A case of malicious damage to a school unit in Nicosia is being investigated by the Police. At dawn today, two persons were spotted by members of the Police, leaving the school and were taken to a Police Station to facilitate the investigations.
Specifically, around 2:45 a.m. today, information was received that two persons with hoods were inside a school unit in Nicosia. Members of the Police went to the scene, where they spotted the two persons exiting the fenced area of the school.
The above persons were intercepted by the police for inspection. It was found that they were 17-year-old and 18-year-old, residents of Nicosia, who were in possession of three containers of paint, paint rolls and three dozen eggs.
A search carried out inside the school found damage to a wall of the building, where slogans with paint were written.
The two youths were taken to a police station, where they were interrogated in writing and then departed, to be summoned later.

A new tragedy on the asphalt is recorded in Limassol with blood flowing nonstop. Victim of the new fatal, cyclist who seems to have been hit by a vehicle in the area of Ypsonas. The driver involved fled the scene of the accident while the unfortunate man died instantly.
The fatal car crash occurred around 8:00 in the morning with local residents aware of the accident, but not the collision.
In statements at the scene of the fatal incident, the Limassol Traffic Police officer, Marios Charalambous, said that today at around 8:00 in the morning the Police were informed about the existence of an accident at the junction of Aesopou and Papaioannou Streets in Ypsonas.
Immediately members of the Traffic Police visited the scene where on the pavement on Papaioannou Street they found a dead man, unidentified, of Asian origin, who was hit along with his bicycle.
The circumstances of the fatal incident are being investigated, while according to Mr. Charalambous it appears that the vehicle may have hit the cyclist and fled the scene. As Mr. Charalambous pointed out, tests are being carried out to locate both the identification of the cyclist and the finding of the unknown vehicle.
Asked if there was evidence that he was indeed swept away by a vehicle, Charalambous noted that "there was a blow to the bicycle and the body of the unknown man, where it seems that he was hit by a vehicle."
In relation to the direction of the cyclist, investigations into the circumstances of the accident are at the initial stage.
Asked if there was any testimony, Charalambous said neighbours told police members that they heard about the accident but did not see how it happened.
Traffic police examinations have been extended to the wider area in an effort to identify CCTV that may have recorded the vehicle involved.
Mr. Charalambous appealed to the public to give information in relation to the fatal incident and if anyone knows anything to contact a Police Officer or the Limassol Traffic Department or 1460.
As far as the identity of the deceased is concerned, the examiners of the Traffic Police have secured his details. This is 42-year-old Amin Rashidi Kavanroodi from Iran, who was illegally on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus since September 2023 while applying for asylum.

As part of an investigation into a robbery case committed on August 30, 2024 against an 18-year-old boy in Ayia Napa, police yesterday arrested two persons aged 34 and 21, based on court warrants.
The case concerns the complaint of an 18-year-old, that at dawn on August 30, 2024, while walking in an area of Ayia Napa, unknown persons attacked him and stole a mobile phone and his wallet.
Then, after checking the 18-year-old, he found that by using his card, money was transferred to other accounts.
The ICF of Famagusta continues the examinations.

The Police arrested two persons aged 18 at dawn today, in the context of an investigation into a case involving conspiracy to commit a felony, causing injury, grievous bodily harm, etc., committed on August 28, 2024 in Larnaca.
Specifically, according to the Police, at around 3:30 in the morning on August 28, 2024, information was received about three persons who were transported injured to Larnaka General Hospital. From examinations carried out, it was found that two hours earlier, there had been a fight between persons, in an area of Larnaka, during which three persons aged 21, 28 and 30 were injured.
Photos of four suspects were released yesterday for identification purposes. Two more people are still wanted in the same case, while a 25-year-old man who was arrested on 28/08/2024, is under eight-day detention.
