Police arrested two minors on Saturday night at the Antonis Papadopoulos stadium in Larnaca.

The match between the teams Anorthosis – Omonia Nicosia was held there, in the context of the Pancyprian Championship of the First Division 2024 – 2025.

According to the police, during the arrival of organized fans of one of the two teams, before the start of the match, flares were thrown and the intervention of the members of the Police was required.

During the incident, two arrests were made. Specifically, a 14.5-year-old person, in whose possession a hand torch (firework) was found, and a 16.5-year-old person, in whose possession a hand torch, ten factory firecrackers and a laser were found, were arrested.

The two suspects, residents of Larnaca, were taken to the Larnaca ICF where they were interrogated and charged in writing, and then released to be summoned before a Court.

The ICF of Larnaca continues the examinations.

A case of burglary and robbery of a jewellery shop in Larnaka is being investigated by the city's Police, with the perpetrators allegedly entering the premises through a hole in the ceiling.

According to information from the Police, the incident took place shortly after 4:00 in the morning, with the perpetrators managing to flee with stolen gold items worth about €15,000.   As reported, the perpetrators allegedly entered through a hole in the ceiling, which had been created by a previous robbery attempt at the same jewellery shop. Investigations are ongoing, with the Larnaca ICF investigating the case.
