U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has ordered the presence of strike forces on two aircraft carriers in the Middle East.
According to the Pentagon, the strengthening of the United States' military presence in the region was decided due to rising regional tensions.
The announcements came hours after the U.S. defense secretary spoke by phone with his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Galant.
The Pentagon deployed the strike force of the aircraft carrier "Abraham Lincoln" in the area, in order to replace the forces of the aircraft carrier "Theodore Roosevelt". However, due to rising tensions, it was deemed necessary to keep both aircraft carriers in the area.
