Police handcuffed the 16-year-old wanted woman on Friday afternoon, in connection with the case of assault and robbery against a 64-year-old man in Limassol.

Examinations and interrogations continue in order to secure the evidence of the other persons involved.

Around 5 yesterday afternoon, members of the Police located on a Limassol street, a 34-year-old man, who was wanted since July 2, 2024, for a case of illegal possession and transport of a firearm, illegal possession and transport of explosives, theft of registration plates, driving a motor vehicle without a safety certificate, illegal possession of property, illegal possession and use of drugs and illegal possession of drugs with the intention of supplying to other persons.

Specifically, on July 2, 2024, information had been received by the Police that a man parked a vehicle in an area of Limassol and exited it, holding a pistol.

Members of the Police immediately went to the spot where they located the specific vehicle, which had registration plates stolen from another vehicle.

Further examinations revealed that the owner of this vehicle was the 34-year-old arrested, while according to the examinations it appeared that both the registration certificate, the certificate of suitability and the safety certificate expired in 2021.

The vehicle was transported by trailer to the Limassol Police Headquarters where a search conducted found in the car, an improvised explosive device of low power, 29 full cartridges of pistol diameter 9,

35 grams of brown solid substance cannabis resin, a waist bag inside which were personal documents of the 34-year-old arrested and other items were taken as evidence.

Members of the Police arrested a 38-year-old man yesterday in connection with an ongoing case of iron theft from a building in Limassol. The 38-year-old was taken into custody, with the ICF Limassol investigating the case.

According to the evidence under investigation and a complaint submitted to the ICF of Limassol, a 24-year-old man, between 05 and 19 August, 800 metal rails, 1.60m long, were stolen from an erected building in the area of Ypsonas.

After evidence emerged against the 38-year-old, a court warrant was issued for his arrest, under which he was arrested at noon on Friday and taken into custody for police examinations.

On the occasion of this new case of theft of materials from a building and in addition to the measures taken by the Police to prevent similar incidents of theft, the Police recommend to owners and contractors of building works, to take the necessary measures to safeguard their property.

Tips to prevent theft of property such as building iron and other metal objects, cables, pipes, tools, and other valuables from buildings under construction or renovation are listed below:

• Maintaining a list with detailed recording of property details

• Storage of property in safe areas. Do not leave exposed in open areas

• Storage security upgrade with security locks

• Fencing of the building

• Adequate lighting

• Installation of alarm systems where possible

Members of the Police arrested a 30-year-old woman yesterday in connection with an ongoing case of theft, money laundering, forgery, and circulation of a false document. The 30-year-old was charged in writing and released to be summoned to court for trial.

The 30-year-old suspect was arrested on Friday afternoon by members of the Nicosia ICF pursuant to a court warrant issued earlier in the day for the purpose of investigating the case.

According to the evidence under investigation and the complaint submitted to the ICF, in the period between July, 2021 and October, 2022, a sum of money in excess of €12,500 was stolen in total, from the cash register of a store, in the Nicosia district. For the theft of money, after the completion of the audit in the accounting records of the store, evidence emerged against the 30-year-old, who worked at the store.

Questioned by members of the ICF Nicosia after her arrest, the 30-year-old allegedly confessed to stealing the money.
