TOURISM TRAFFIC FROM ISRAEL HITS RED IN LAST 24 HOURS

Filenews 23 July 2024 - by Dora Christodoulou

The tourist market of Israel has been opening for good lately for Paphos. In the last 24 hours, the Israeli invasion of Pafos has hit red, with one after another flights from Tel Aviv landing at Paphos airport, creating a scene that according to officials is even more massive than before the start of military operations in the Gaza Strip.

It is characteristic of the skyrocketing tourist traffic between Tel Aviv and Pafos that in addition to the daily flights from the three major carriers that traditionally operated the route, namely EL-AL, TUS and Israir, for a few days now new companies have been constantly appearing transporting tourists, while EL-AL has launched even larger aircraft than usual to meet demand.

Apart from Israel, tourist Paphos is enjoying this summer a significant injection in the influx of visitors and capital from central and northern Europe, due to Ryanair's flight schedule. The colossus of low cost carriers connects Pafos all year round with dozens of airports in these countries and, as Paphos tourist operators point out, has made these countries an important factor for the year-round tourist flow to Paphos. With pre-bookings and visits to dedicated tourist traffic pages already showing that 2024 will mean a further launch of the destination in these markets.
