The Holy Basilica and Stavropegic Monastery of Agios Neophytos in Pafos, on the occasion of the completion of 50 years since the barbaric Turkish invasion and seeking to preserve the memory and militancy of the people, inaugurates on Friday, July 12, the inauguration of the holy chapel of the Monastery, which will be honoured in the name of the Prophet Elijah.

The impressive in construction and location new chapel of the Monastery, is located on the mountain that dominates over Agios Neophytos, between Tsada and Koili, and its connection with the terrible day of the Turkish invasion is related to the fact that the annual memory of Prophet Elias is celebrated on July 20.

On Friday, July 12, from 7:30 p.m., until dawn on Saturday, a Holy Vigil will be held during which all the sacred services provided by the order will be held continuously. During the vespers service, he will sing a petition for the rapid release of our cities and villages occupied by the Turkish invaders, the return of the displaced to their ancestral homes and the finding of the missing.

The inauguration will be presided over by the Archbishop of Cyprus George, supported by the Abbot of the Monastery of Agios Neophytos and Bishop of Hytra, Leontios.
