RISK OF FOREST FIRES AT 'RED' LEVEL
It is pointed out that, it is prohibited to set fire without a permit and that it constitutes an offense which according to the Forestry Act 2012, is punishable by imprisonment of up to 10 years or a fine of up to € 50,000.00 or both sentences together and according to the Fire Prevention Act of its Pit Law 1988 up to 5 years or with a fine of up to € 20,000 or both sentences together.
The ignition of the fire, for the preparation of food, is allowed only in the grills of the excursion areas.
It is also made to appeal to the public to be extremely cautious during their excursions, completely avoiding actions and activities that are likely to cause fire, such as the use of tools or agricultural machinery that produce heat, sparks or flames, such as smyrilion, oxygen glue and electrical welding.
Finally, in case anyone notices smoke or fire is called to call 1407 (Forest Department) or 112 (Fire Department) immediately.
