According to the Police, two boys, aged 8 and 9, who were detained as a precaution yesterday at the General Hospital of Pafos, are expected to be discharged today.
Mr. Nikolaou also mentioned that a case of illegal employment of the 28-year-old is being investigated against the hotel management as his employment contract defines him as a room attendant while he was dealing with chemical reactions.
The two people in custody are facing offenses related to dangerous and negligent acts causing bodily harm.
In his statements to the KYPE, Mr. Nikolaou stated that in this case and during the Police examinations, it seems that it was deemed necessary to place the maintenance chemicals as an emergency because during the measurement, a low percentage of chlorine appeared, resulting in the creation of microbes.
Mr. Nikolaou said that usually the maintenance of the pool is not done at such a time, but before 07:00 in the morning or after the use of the pool by the customers.
The 28-year-old allegedly poured 10 liters of different types of bleach at the same time, causing a chemical reaction and affecting the pool's bathers.
Mr. Nikolaou said the 28-year-old is the person who placed the bleach while the 57-year-old is his supervisor. Mr. Nikolaou further said that a case of illegal employment of the 28-year-old is being investigated against the hotel's management, as his employment contract defines him as a room attendant while he was dealing with chemical reactions.
It is noted that 26 people, 12 adults and 14 minors, visited the Paphos Hospital yesterday due to the incident with the fumes caused in a hotel pool in Geroskipou.

Reports of thefts of bathers possessions on various beaches in Cyprus are now a daily occurrence, a fact that forced the Police to take emergency measures, even placing members under cover in some of them. The measures have had an effect, as several baggers have recently been arrested and brought to justice.
The phenomenon is particularly intense on some beaches of Ayia Napa and Protaras, as well as on that of Finikoudes in Larnaka, where a number of complaints have been made in the last month.
As the spokesman of the Police, Christos Andreou, told "F", due to the increased thefts, the Police proceeded to various actions on the one hand to inform the public and take measures and on the other hand to arrest the perpetrators. "We do various businesses on beaches where there have been increased cases of thefts to bathers. One of the measures taken by the Police is the operations under cover. Members of the Police and especially of the provincial Crime Prevention Squads are under cover on various beaches. In many cases we had identified persons for flagrant offenses, where we either spotted them stealing or informed us citizens and because our members were nearby we arrested the perpetrators."
Mr. Andreou called on bathers to take measures and follow the advice published lately by the Police. Through announcements on social media, the Police calls on citizens to avoid carrying valuables on beaches, to have only the necessary amount of money with them, not to leave their property unattended and to cooperate with other bathers or excursionists for its surveillance.
It is noted that on Sunday night, Famagusta Police arrested a 22-year-old man who tried to steal property from a bather's bag in Protaras, who immobilized him. At around 8:30 a.m., a 46-year-old tourist spotted a suspicious man searching inside his bag. He restrained him and alerted the police, who found in his possession a wallet and a sum of €234, as well as a gold chain. The police were also shown a bag, which was at the scene and according to testimonies of bathers, it was in the possession of the suspect before the citizen immobilized him. A check on the bag found two mobile phones, a pair of sunglasses, and a watch. The items found, as well as the wallet found in the 22-year-old's possession, were identified by two people as property stolen from the same beach. The young man was detained to facilitate interrogations.
A few days ago, members of the Larnaca OPE investigated an 18-year-old foreigner in Finikoudes, whose movements were considered suspicious. During the inspection, it was found that in a sports bag he was holding there were three mobile phones, a credit card, vehicle and house keys and a pair of headphones. While being interrogated, a tourist came to the ICF of Larnaka, who reported the theft of his bag and recognized the one in the possession of the foreigner, who is in detention. Due to the many reports of thefts in Finikoudes, checks have increased significantly in the last month, in cooperation with Larnaka Municipality.
