 Pafos Live 2 July 2024

President of Cluster D in the Pafos District, the president of the community of Statos – Agios Photios, Michalis Kimonos, was elected on Monday, after a secret ballot.

Cluster D includes the ten communities of Agia Marina Kelokedaron, Amargeti, Axylus, Asprogia, Galataria, Eledious, Koilinia, Pano Panagia, Pentalia and Statos – Agios Photios.

As Mr. Kimonos said, he was elected without a second candidate and the president of the community of Asprogia, Angela Georgiou, was elected vice-president.

As far as the headquarters of the Complex are concerned, there was no conclusion and the decision on its determination will be taken by the Minister of the Interior.

Indicatively, he noted, four communities were interested, of which Amargeti received one vote, Pentalia four, Statos Agios Fotios 3 and Panagia 2. In order to determine the seat of the Cluster, Mr. Michael said, each community must secure 50% of the votes.

His vision for Cluster D, Kimonos said, is to find a way to make them work properly and consensually.

He added, however, that the state must be ready to correct any mistakes, saying that the decisions taken must be clear and not ambiguous. Our goal is for the reform to succeed for the benefit of the residents of the mountainous communities of the Pafos district who face serious problems, he concluded.
