CENTURY OLD OAK TREE OF PHYTI BECOMES 'SMART'
The Pafos Regional Board of Tourism , continues its efforts to upgrade the visitor’s experience
and by implement actions that contribute to the transformation of the Pafos district into a Smart
Destination, recently has expanded the digitization of information and installed a smart sign at
the natural monument-Century-Old Oak tree of Phyti, estimated to be 500 years old.
The user/visitor, can initially scan the QR code, can choose via his smart device the language of
his choice, and enjoy a wide range of information options. In this particular case, the smart sign
provides information about the Oak tree, about the protection of the forests, the advantages that
trees offer to humans and nature, the life cycle of trees, etc., as well as rich, photographic
material, Audio guide in 5 languages and video.
With in the next coming days, Pafos Regional Board of Tourism will fully complete the Fifth
Phase and the installation of 23 smart signs in various areas and points of interest in Pafos,
Geroskipou, Akamas, Chloraka, Choli, Salamiou, Simou, Drouseia, etc.
