Alkinoos Ioannides will return to the island this summer to conclude his summer tour in Cyprus. Four more concerts are planned, extending the summer’s music calendar well into September, which will see Alkinoos entertain audiences in Pissouri, Lympia, Deryneia and Tala.
Joining Alkinoos on the stages of the island will be four Cypriot musicians, new companions who bring a different approach to the songs through the sounds of strings, percussion and electronic instruments. On keyboards and electronics will be Marios Takoushis, on bass and electronics Lefteris Moumtzis, on oud, guitar and percussions Yiannis Koutis and on drums Nikolas Tsangaris.
First they will perform at the Pissouri Amphitheatre on September 20, then at the Lympia Community Park Theatre on the following evening and at the Deryneia Municipal Amphitheatre on September 27. The final concert will be held at the Tala Amphitheatre in Paphos on September 28.
With different arrangements and electronic sounds, the concerts’ programme is characterised by moments of great intensity and emotion, as well as the joy of this meeting, the communication between the musicians themselves and with the audience, the freedom of improvisation, and the coexistence of different musical worlds. All, at intimate outdoor concert venues around the island.
