YELLOW WEATHER WARNING - THURSDAY

A yellow warning for extreme maximum temperature was issued by the Department of Meteorology for Thursday, with temperatures expected to rise to 41 degrees.

The warning will be in effect from 1100 to 1700 on Thursday.

According to the forecast, the maximum temperature in the interior is expected to rise to around 41 degrees Celsius while 33 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains.

Today, after the dissipation of the local sparse fog and low cloud, the weather will become mostly clear. After noon in the mountains will appear increased clouds, which may give isolated rain. The winds will initially blow mainly southeast to southwest weak, 3 Beaufort, to later become mainly southwesterly to northwest weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally on the south coast to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little turbulent. The temperature will rise to 41 degrees in the interior, 32 degrees on the west coast, 34 degrees on the rest of the coasts and 33 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight the weather will be mostly clear although locally there will be temporarily increased low clouds, mainly on the coast. During the dawn hours, locally sparse fog and low clouds are likely to form, mainly in the southeast. The winds will become mainly northwesterly to northeast weak, 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be calm to a little turbulent. The temperature will drop to around 25 degrees in the interior, south and east coasts and around 24 degrees on the west and north coasts as well as in the higher mountains.

On Friday the weather will be mostly clear, although locally increased clouds will be observed during the afternoon and early afternoon. On Saturday there will be intermittent locally increased clouds, which in the afternoon and early afternoon may give isolated rain or even thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and interior. On Sunday the weather will be mostly clear.

The temperature on Friday is not expected to change significantly, while on Saturday it will fall, to fluctuate near or slightly above average climatic values.
