On the Limassol-Nicosia highway, in both directions, in the section from the Moni junction to the New Hospital junction, in the period 27/5/2024 – 28/6/2024, from 9:00 in the evening until 06:00 in the morning of the following day, every day, except for Fridays and weekends, work will be carried out to replace safety parapets. During the works, it will be partially closed for a length of 200m. one lane of the highway and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Also on the Limassol-Nicosia highway, from Monday, 27/5/2024 and for a period of approximately 2 months, every day except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00, parapet replacement works will be carried out on the abutments of the highway and in both directions. During the works, the highway embankment will be partially closed, in a length of 200m. approximately and traffic will continue uninterrupted. Also on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, in the section from Skarinos to Zygi, from Tuesday 25/6/2024 until Thursday 27/6/2024, between the hours of 9:00 p.m. in the evening and 06:00 a.m. the following day, local road surface repair work will be carried out. During the works, both lanes of the motorway in the direction from Nicosia to Limassol will be partially closed for a length of 3km. approximately and the traffic will be diverted in the opposite direction which will operate with two-way traffic. On the Limassol-Paphos highway and the Limassol bypass road, maintenance work will be carried out on the trees and bushes of the central island, by the Forestry Department, as follows: (a) In the period 29/5/2024 – 9/7/2024, between the hours 07:00 – 15:30, in the section from the exit to Kourris Dam to Petra tou Romiou, (b) On Sunday 2/6/2024, between the hours of 06:00 – 13:00, in the section from the uneven roundabout of Germasogeia to the uneven roundabout of Agios Athanasios, and (c) On weekends, 8 – 9/6/2024 and 15 – 16/6/2024, between the hours of 06:00 – 13:00, on the section of the Paphos – Limassol highway, from the exit to Agios Sylas to the uneven surface New Port roundabout. During the works, the right traffic lane will be partially closed in both directions for a length of 1500m. and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. Also on the Limassol-Paphos highway, in the section from Erimi to the Bridge over Petra tou Romiou, in the period 28/5/2024 – 15/12/2024, excluding Fridays, weekends and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00: 30, plantation watering works will be carried out within the central island, by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right traffic lane in one direction of the road will be partially closed for a length of 200m. and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. Also on the Limassol-Paphos highway, from Monday 17 June 2024 until Friday 19 July 2024 from 08:30 am. to 3:00 p.m., forestry work will be carried out by the Forest Department on the central dividing island for a total length of approximately 17 km, on a road length of 1.5 – 2 km/per day. During the work, the right lanes will be closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. On the Larnaca Airport-Paralimni and Larnaca-Kofinou motorways, in the period 17/06/2024 – 06/09/2024, Monday to Thursday except public holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30 pruning and removal of plants will be carried out in highway slopes, from the Forestry Department. During the works, on the highway from Larnaca Airport to the Rizoelias roundabout (from both directions) and on the Larnaca - Kofinou Highway (from both directions), part of the highway shoulder will be closed, in sections over a length of 100 meters report. Traffic will not be affected. On the highways of the province of Larnaca (Larnaca-Kofinou, Larnaca-Nicosia and Larnaca-Agia Napa Airport), in the period 25/6/2024 – 13/8/2024, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours 08:30 – 15:30 , pruning and watering operations will be carried out on the central islands by the Forestry Department, as follows: (a) in the period 25/6/2024 – 31/7/2024, on the Larnaca Airport – Ayia Napa motorway, from the Kalos Chorio roundabout to the Rizoelia roundabout and on the Larnaca – Nicosia motorway from the Rizoelia roundabout to the exit to Nisos, and (b) in the period 8/7/2024 – 13/8/2024, on the Larnaca – Kofinou highway, starting 400m before the Kalos Chorio roundabout until the Kofinou exit During the works, the lane adjacent to the central island of the motorway will be partially closed in both directions, in length of 1.5 km. every time. In Lakatamia, from Tuesday 25/6/2024 until Friday 28/6/2024, between the hours of 09:00 – 12:45, in parts of Makariou III, Panteli Katelari, Melina Merkouri and Agios Georgiou Avenues, maintenance work is being carried out on the greenery of the central islands, by the Municipality of Lakatamia. During the works, the tangential traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed for a length of 100-200m. approximately, each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In Lakatamia, works will be carried out on Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street, from Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to Pefkou Street, from Friday 12/5/2023 and for a period of 20 months, as part of the improvement/construction of Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos, and Department Avenues of Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street. At the same time, during the same period, as part of the reconstruction of Hippocrates Avenue, Themistokleous Street and Areos Avenue will be closed from their junction with Themistokleous Street to Nikias Street and Kentaurou Street respectively. Also in Lakatamia, from Monday 8/7/2024 until Wednesday 10/7/2024, between the hours of 09:00 – 12:45, maintenance work will be carried out on the greenery of the central islands, by the Municipality of Lakatamia from the roundabout Anthoupolis junction up to the junction with Anthoupoleos Street. During the works, the tangential traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed for a length of 100-200m. approximately, each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. The Municipality of Aradippou will carry out works in the period 10/6/2024 – 10/7/2024, between the hours of 08:30 – 13:00 every day except weekends and public holidays, on the Avenues of Eleftherias, Acropolis, Australia, Spyros Kyprianou and Hellas of the District Larnaca, for maintenance and beautification of the central islands of the streets. During the works, the tangential traffic lanes (from both directions) of the central island will be partially closed for a length of 100m. and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In the province of Larnaca, as part of the construction works of the "Improvement of the Ormideia - Xylofagos Road" Project, from August 28, 2023 until July 17, 2024, work will be carried out on Anexartisias Street. The road will be closed to traffic in both directions, from the junction with Menelaou Ludemi Street to the junction with the old Larnaca-Dekelia-Ammochosto road. During the works, traffic will be diverted to an existing parallel road (old Larnaca-Dekelia-Ammochosto road). The movement of vehicles and pedestrians on adjacent roads and properties will be done according to the corresponding local arrangements. In Kiti, in the province of Larnaca, on Makariou Avenue, in the period from June 17, 2024 to July 15, 2024, the Larnaca Sewerage Council will carry out the installation of a central sewer pipe. During the works, the section of Makariou Avenue from its junction with Stadiou Street to its junction with Piraeus Street will be closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted through adjacent streets. On the Larnaca-Kitiou road, in the period 25/6/2024 – 5/7/2024, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, every day except weekends, cleaning and pruning of the central islets will be carried out by the Municipality of Dromolaxia. During the works, the tangential lane of the central island of the road will be partially closed (every 500m.), from its light-controlled junction with Eleftherias Street in Dromolaxia to the roundabout of the old Larnaca Airport in both directions and the traffic traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. On normal roads in the province of Larnaca, work will be carried out to cut, collect and remove grass, as well as the collection and removal of useless objects, in the period from 4/3/2024 to 28/6/2024, excluding Sundays and holidays, from 08 :00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon. During the work, the shoulder of the road will be partially closed and traffic will remain in the normal traffic lanes without the shoulder. In the greater area of Limassol and Paphos, from Monday 12/2/2024 and for a period of approximately 6 months, a private company will carry out works to replace outdated signaling equipment at 47 light-controlled intersections and 31 Pelican-type pedestrian crossings, with a new low-consumption type (Extra Low Voltage-ELV) with LED lamps, Pedestrian Countdown and touch-type demand system for pedestrians. Equipment replacement work at each point will be completed within one day, unless unforeseen and during the work the light-controlled junctions and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service unless it is deemed necessary to install temporary traffic lights. The above contributions will be preceded by civil engineering works for the infrastructures. During the week 24/6/2024 – 30/6/2024, work will be carried out at the junctions / pedestrian crossings: Kranou Street-25/06/24 (Pedestrian Crossing-Limassol) Promahon Eleftherias Avenue (in front of the Oval building)-26/06/24 (Pedestrian Crossing-Limassol) Georgiou Avenue A' ("Dasoudi")-27/06/24 (Pedestrian Crossing-Limassol) Chr. Ave. Hatzipavlou (Molos)-28/06/24 (Pedestrian Crossing-Limassol) In the district of Limassol, on the road Limassol - Agro in the village of Gerasa, in the period 21/5/2024 - 31/7/2024, between the hours 07:00 - 15:30, work will be carried out to raise retaining walls and clean slopes. During the works, one of the two traffic lanes of the road will be closed for a length of 120m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, with alternating traffic management with temporary traffic lights. In Paphos, from Monday 8/4/2024 until Tuesday 8/10/2024, roundabout construction works will be carried out at the intersection of Loforou Empas with Christou Kkelis and Dimitraki Adamou streets. During the works, traffic on Empas Avenue will be uninterrupted. In the district of Pafos, on the road Episkopi-Mandria, in the village of Souni, during the period 10/06/2024 – 26/07/2024, construction works of retaining walls will be carried out by a private Contracting Company, on a section of the road. During the above period, one of the two traffic lanes of the road will be closed for a length of 100m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, with alternating traffic management with temporary Traffic Lights. On the old Paphos-Limassol road, in the period 13/5/2024 – 12/5/2025 (for 12 months), construction work will be carried out to stabilize a part of the road, despite Petra tou Romiou (near the KOT refreshment center in Petra tou Rumi). During the works the part of the road being reconstructed will not be available to traffic. There will be continuous and uninterrupted traffic movement on both sides of the construction site boundaries. Traffic on the old Paphos - Limassol road (B6) heading from Paphos to Limassol will be diverted from the Petra tou Romiou exit (after Aphrodite Hills on the left) and from Limassol / Pissouri to Paphos from the Pissouri exit on the Paphos highway – Limassol (A6). Also, on the old Pafos-Limassol road, in the section past Petra tou Romiou, in the period between 17/06/2024 and 16/06/2025, road stabilization works will be carried out. In particular, the works will be carried out to stabilize the slope and the floor of the roadway, as part of the 2nd Phase of the works carried out on the road, after the large landslides that had occurred since 2019. During the period of the works, 17/06/ 2024 – 16/06/2025, part of the old Limassol-Paphos road, despite Petra tou Romiou, will be temporarily closed to traffic in both directions to Paphos and to Limassol. the temporary signaling will be the same as it was done in the 1st Phase of Works. In particular, the necessary signaling and information will be placed on the parallel section of the Limassol-Paphos highway, as well as on the two cut-off sections on the old Limassol-Paphos road, despite the western exit of Pissouri-Petra tou Romio and despite the Kouklion exit, for information of drivers intending to head towards Petra tou Romiou. In the Vassilikos area, from Thursday, February 22, 2024, fencing works are being carried out at the Vassilikos Energy Center, which will last until February, 2025.
