The European Commission is expected to inform carmakers later in the day that it will temporarily apply additional tariffs of up to 25% on imported electric cars produced in China from next month, the Financial Times newspaper revealed on Tuesday, citing sources in Brussels.
The European Commission is reportedly determined to go ahead with the measure despite warnings from Germany's government that it risks triggering an extremely costly trade war with China.
