Charity donation boxes for the benefit of various organizations and social assistance associations, located in all bakeries and other shops, are now the subject of special attention of business managers, following the repeated cases of theft observed recently in Paphos.

The boxes of donations were targeted by fraudsters from the Christmas holidays, with one woman eventually falling into the hands of the police. However, information tells us that in recent times similar practices have been noticed in many cases in businesses of this kind in the municipal area of Pafos, in Geroskipou and in large peri-urban communities. On different occasions these perpetrators entered bakeries and before their intentions could be understood, they snatched, or attempted to do so, contribution boxes from the cash registers and disappeared.

This unprecedented action has put police and businessmen on new alert, since due to the existence of such levy points in almost every store of mass trafficking of citizens, it is assumed that imitators will now continue to appear. That is why in most stores that have charity donation boxes, they are now placed in a place with direct visual contact of employees and in a way that prevents easy theft and escape of the offender.
