ALL FLIGHTS FROM MANCHESTER AIRPORT FACING DELAYS - TERMINALS 1 & 2 SEVERELY DISRUPTED, TERMINAL 3 RUNNING WITH DELAYS

 Sky News 23 June 2024

All flights from Manchester Airport facing cancellations and severe delays after power cut

The airport has said passengers due to travel from Terminals 1 or 2 are advised to contact their airlines for up-to-date information before coming to the airport.

It is understood an issue with the power supply in the local area affected the airport and a number of other buildings.

Power has been restored and the airport has said in a statement it is "working to get those passengers already at the airport onto flights as soon as possible".

However, it added that "disruption caused by the outage means in some instances baggage may not be on those flights".

"We will work with airlines to make sure passengers are reunited with any baggage that is not on their flight as soon as possible," the statement continues.

Terminals 1 and 2 are severely affected, while Terminal 3 is running.

Passengers already inside the airport face significant delays and possible cancellations, with images showing huge queues of people there this morning.

Manchester Airport has said passengers due to travel from Terminals 1 or 2 are advised not to come to the airport until further notice and to contact their airlines for up-to-date information.

Passengers due to fly from Terminal 3 might face delays but should come to the airport as normal unless advised otherwise by their airline, the airport added.

Meanwhile, a number of arriving flights are being diverted to other airports so anyone due to pick passengers up from Manchester Airport should check before they travel.

Airlines will organise any onward journey for those whose flights are cancelled.

The airport is working to get all services back up as soon as possible, however they have not yet given a timeline.
