The Department of Road Transport of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that as of Tuesday, May 14, 2024, the periodic technical inspection for motorcycles (two-wheeled, three-wheeled and four-wheeled) will be implemented.

From May 14, 2024, the registration or re-registration of a used motorcycle will be done only after a successful technical inspection and presentation of the certificate of suitability, it said.
As part of ensuring road safety, all registered motorcycles will be invited for roadworthiness testing.
Owners of registered motorcycles will be informed about the time within which they will carry out a technical inspection of their vehicle by sending a message (sms) and, therefore, are invited to update their contact details by subscribing to the online services of the Department of Road Transport, the announcement concludes.
