On the Larnaca-Kofinou highway, in the period from 22/04/2024 to 31/05/2024, excluding Sundays and holidays, from 08:30 in the morning until 15:00, work will be carried out to cut, collect and remove grass, as well as the collection and removal of unusable objects from the abutments and slopes along the entire length of the motorway in both directions, including junctions. During the work, the freeway shoulder will be partially closed and traffic will remain in the normal lanes without the shoulder. In the province of Larnaca, on sections of the Larnaca - Nicosia, Larnaca - Ayia Napa and Larnaca - Kofinou motorways, in the period 14/5/2024 - 27/5/2024, every day, excluding weekends, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:00 , safety parapet maintenance work will be carried out. During the works, one traffic lane will be partially closed for a length of 200m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the Limassol-Nicosia highway, in the direction from Limassol to Nicosia, at the Alhambra bridge, on Monday 20/5/2024 and Tuesday 21/5/2024, from 09:00 in the morning until 17:00 in the afternoon, work will be carried out to place temporary protective parapets ("concrete barriers") along the road base. During the works, the left lane of the road will remain closed to traffic for approximately 200m and drivers are advised to use the adjacent lane. Also on the Limassol-Nicosia highway, in both directions, in the section from the Moni junction to the New Hospital junction, in the period 27/5/2024 – 28/6/2024, from 9:00 in the evening until 06:00: 00 in the morning of the following day, every day, except Fridays and weekends, work will be carried out to replace safety parapets. During the works, it will be partially closed for a length of 200m. one lane of the highway and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. On the Nicosia-Larnaka, Nicosia-Limes and Nicosia-Akaki highways, as well as on central avenues in Strovolos and Nicosia, on the weekends 18-19/05/2024, 25-26/05/2024 and 01-02/06/2024 , cleaning work will be carried out on the reflectors on the central island of the roads, as follows: On Saturday 18/5/2024 and Sunday 19/5/2024, between the hours of 05:00 – 10:00 in the morning, work will be carried out on the central island in both directions on the Nicosia-Larnaca highway, up to the Athianou exit and on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, up to KornosOn Saturday 25/5/2024 and Sunday 26/5/2024, between the hours of 05:00 – 10:00 in the morning, works will be carried out on the Nicosia – Limassol highway from Kalispera lights to Pentaschinos, with the exception of the area of Horn On Saturday 01/6/2024, between the hours of 05:00 - 10:00 in the morning, works will be carried out on the Nicosia - Akaki highway on the central island in both directions On Sunday 02/6/2024, between the hours of 05:00 – 10:00 in the morning, work will be carried out on the central island on Spyros Kyprianou Avenues (B22) in Strovolos and Griva Digeni (B18) in Nicosia in both directions. The public is asked to use the left lane during the works. At the entrance to Nicosia and roads in Strovolos, from Monday, 20/5/2024 until Friday 31/5/2024, in parts of the roads below, maintenance work will be carried out on the greenery of the central islands, by the Municipality of Strovolos: Kalamon Avenue from the roundabout with Spyros Kyprianou Avenue to the roundabout next to the Nicosia General Hospital (May 20 – 22, 2024 between the hours of 09:30 – 12:30), Nikos Papaminas Avenue from the roundabout with Kalamon Avenue to the entrance of the Athalassa Park (May 23 – 24, 2024 between the hours of 09:30 – 16:00), · Limassol Avenue from the junction with Athalassa Avenue to Costa Anaxagora Street (May 25, 2024 – Saturday between the hours of 07:00 – 16:00), · Limassol Avenue (old road) from the junction with Verginas Street to the junction with Nikos Papaminas Avenue (May 27 – 29, 2024 between the hours of 09:30 – 12:30), · Limassol Avenue (old road) from the junction with Nikos Papaminas to Athalassis Street (May 30 – 31, 2024 between the hours 09:30 - 12:30) During the works, the tangential traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed for a length of 100-200m. approximately, each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. Also at the entrance to Nicosia, at the Kalamon Flyover in Strovolo (motorway A1, Nicosia - Limassol, Limassol - Nicosia), on Thursday, 23/5/2024, between the hours of 21:00 in the evening and 22:30 in the evening, work will be carried out on maintenance of expansion joints. During the works, the two traffic lanes in each direction, on the road over the Kalamon flyover (to and from Nicosia) will be closed alternately and traffic will be channeled through the Kalamon roundabout.
In Strovolos, on Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, from the height of the roundabout of Tseriou Avenue in the direction of Strovolos roundabout, from Monday, 20/5/2024 until Friday 24/5/2024, between the hours of 08.30 in the morning with 15.00 in the afternoon, work will be carried out to replace rainwater grates. The work will be carried out exclusively in the right lane of traffic. In Lakatamia, works will be carried out on Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street, from Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to Pefkou Street, from Friday 12/5/2023 and for a period of 20 months, in the framework of the improvement/construction of Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos and Department Avenues of Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street. At the same time, during the same period, as part of the reconstruction of Hippocrates Avenue, Themistokleous Street and Areos Avenue will be closed from their junction with Themistokleous Street to Nikias Street and Kentaurou Street respectively. As part of the "Road within Tseriou" Project, in the period 21/3/2024 - 31/5/2024, the eighth phase of the works will be implemented, during which a section of Theodosis Pieridis Street will remain closed, from its junction with K. Misiauli Street to M. Karaoli Street. During the works, of the above phase, traffic from Nicosia to Analyondas will be diverted through Arch. Kyprianou, Thermopylae, Pentadaktilo, V. Michaelidis, Salaminos, A. Zakou, Omonoias, M. Karaoli, Th. Pieridis. Drivers heading towards Nicosia are advised to use M. Karaoli, Omonoias, A. Zakou, Salaminos, Pentadaktylou, K. Varnali, Kouriou streets. For the above traffic regulation, there will be appropriate temporary markings, which drivers should follow. In Larnaca, on city boulevards, green care and cleaning works will be carried out, in the central islands of the streets, by the Municipality of Larnaca, in the period 24/4/2024 – 31/5/2024, between the hours 08:30 – 17 :00, daily except weekends and holidays. The works will be carried out along Tasos Papadopoulos, Dimitris Christofias, Famagusta, Spyros Kyprianou, Alexandros Panagoulis, Stratigos Timayas, Anexartisias, Yannos Kranidiotis, Nikos and Despina Pattichis Avenues, Limassol, Georgios Christodoulides, United States of America, European Union, Artemis and Tasos Mitsopoulos. During the works, the adjacent lanes will be partially closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In the province of Larnaca, on Friday 19/05/2023, the reconstruction works of the Ormideia - Xylofago road will begin, which will last for approximately 12 months, until the end of May 2024. The project is an improvement of a part of the existing road that connects the community of Ormideia with the old Larnaca - Dekelia - Famagusta road. The section of the existing road that is being improved begins immediately after the exit from the residential area (near the junction with Menelaou Ludemi Street) and ends at the junction with the old Larnaca – Dekelia – Famagusta road. Also in the province of Larnaca, as part of the construction works of the "Improvement of the Ormideia - Xylofagos Road" Project, from August 28, 2023 until July 17, 2024, work will be carried out on Anexartisias Street. The road will be closed to traffic in both directions, from the junction with Menelaou Ludemi Street to the junction with the old Larnaca-Dekelia-Ammochosto road. During the works, traffic will be diverted to an existing parallel road (old Larnaca-Dekelia-Ammochosto road). The movement of vehicles and pedestrians on adjacent roads and properties will be done according to the corresponding local arrangements. In Kiti, in the province of Larnaca, on Makariou Avenue, during the period 7/5/024 – 4/6/2024, construction works of a sewage system will be carried out by a private company. During the works, the section of Makariou Avenue from its junction with Achnas Street to its junction with Piraeus Street will be closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted through adjacent streets. On normal roads in the province of Larnaca, work will be carried out to cut, collect and remove grass, as well as the collection and removal of useless objects, in the period from 4/3/2024 to 28/6/2024, excluding Sundays and holidays, from 08 :00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon. During the work, the shoulder of the road will be partially closed and traffic will remain in the normal traffic lanes without the shoulder. In the wider area of Limassol and Paphos, from Monday 12/2/2024 and for a period of approximately 6 months, a private company will carry out works to replace obsolete signalling equipment in 47 photo controlled intersections and 31 Pelican-type pedestrian crossings, with a new type of low consumption (Extra Low Voltage-ELV) with LED lamps, a Pedestrian Countdown system and a touch-type demand system for pedestrians. The equipment replacement work at each point will be completed within one day, unless unforeseen and during the work the light-controlled junctions and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service unless it is deemed necessary to install temporary traffic lights. The above contributions will be preceded by civil engineering works for the infrastructures. During the week 20/5/2024 – 26/5/2024, works will be carried out at the junctions / pedestrian crossings: Sp. Kyprianou Avenue / Pattichi (Traffic Lights-Limassol) Sp. Kyprianou / Potamianou Avenue (Traffic lights-Limassol) Kolonakiou / Edessis Avenue (Traffic Lights-Limassol) Agia Zonis Avenue (Pedestrian Crossing-Limassol) Sp. Kyprianou Avenue (Near Geroulanou) (Pedestrian Crossing- Limassol) In the district of Limassol, on the road Limassol - Agro in the village of Gerasa, in the period 21/5/2024 - 31/7/2024, between the hours 07:00 - 15:30, work will be carried out to raise retaining walls and clean slopes. During the works, one of the two traffic lanes of the road will be closed for a length of 120m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, with alternating traffic management with temporary traffic lights. In Paphos, from Monday 8/4/2024 until Tuesday 8/10/2024, roundabout construction works will be carried out at the intersection of Loforou Empas with Christou Kkelis and Dimitraki Adamou streets. During the works, traffic on Empas Avenue will be uninterrupted. Also in Paphos, from Tuesday 21/5/2024 until Friday 31/5/2024, between the hours of 20:00 in the evening and 05:30 in the morning of the following day, every day except Saturday and Sunday, maintenance work will be carried out road network in sections of the following roads, within the Municipal Areas of Paphos: Avenues of Democracy, Europe and Danai (descent), Pafiakou roundabout, Dept. of Avenue Paul and Road Paphos - Ag. George Pegias.
