GESY - MEDICAL SPECIALISTS CAN NOW SEND SMS TO BENEFICIARIES

 Filenews 13 May 2024

The Health Insurance Organisation, in the context of the upgrades of the IT System for more effective information to GHS beneficiaries, informs the public that as of April 26, 2024, the service of sending a text message (SMS) to the beneficiary's mobile phone has been implemented, for healthcare services received from Specialist Doctors.

More specifically, beneficiaries can now be informed by SMS on their mobile phone about the healthcare services they have received during their visit to a SpecialistSMS messages are sent only to beneficiaries who have an active account to access the GHS Beneficiary Portal and have linked their beneficiary file.

In case beneficiaries did not have their beneficiary file connected until April 26, 2024, in order to receive the SMS messages, they should take one of the following two actions:

Create an account to access the Beneficiary Portal

Create an account to access the Beneficiary Portal, following the login procedure as described on the GHS website, at link https://www.gesy.org.cy/el-gr/annualreport/gesy-electronic-form-re-1.pdf. Alternatively or additionally, they can watch the relevant video at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdmVfyFH9ZM.

After the connection is made, the beneficiary should activate SMS reception by going to the 'Communication Preferences' section in Demographics, as shown in the image below:

It is noted that, in case a beneficiary who has linked his account has minor children, then he automatically gains access to the beneficiary file of each child and can also activate the receipt of SMS for his children.

Contact their Personal Doctor to activate the function

Contact their Personal Doctor, asking him to confirm the mobile phone number registered in their beneficiary's file, and then activate the receipt of SMS on their behalf.

For more information or support in relation to the above, you can contact the GHS Service Centre at 17000, via free telephone call.
