A serious traffic accident occurred early in the morning in Paphos, specifically at traffic lights (height of Cynthiana hotel) in Kissonerga.
A 47-year-old driver who was running through the green traffic lights was severely hit on the side by a passing vehicle that ran a red light and in which three people were on board, as a result of which he was injured and transported by ambulance to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Paphos General Hospital for treatment and further tests.
The driver of the vehicle was very lucky if you consider that his vehicle, after making three turns on the road, came to rest in an adjacent field, fortunately without overturning.
Both the male driver and two women who were riding in the black BMW car heading from Paphos to Peyia left the scene and fled on foot. The Police, after a check they carried out, found that the vehicle belongs to a woman from Georgia who resides illegally in Cyprus and whom they are looking for.
The driver of the first vehicle, after the treatment he received, was discharged and is asking for the public's help in identifying and arresting the driver of the vehicle.
Speaking to PafosPress he said that after the violent collision and while he was in his vehicle in a state of shock, he saw a man come and stand in front of him, but then leave the scene without giving him any help and leaving him beaten and helpless in the vehicle which resulted from the collision in an adjacent banana field.
