CRIME ROUND UP

 Pafos Live 11 May 2024

An elderly resident of Konia was outraged when a recreation center in the area of Konia continued to broadcast music, even after a patrol car arrived in the area.

After the departure of members of the police, who had denounced the store manager for the music, the 82-year-old became enraged when the managers of the leisure center, located very close to his home, continued to have the music on high.

According to police, he grabbed the shotgun and fired a shot for intimidation. Police believe the elderly man had no intention of shooting at patrons or those in charge of the recreation center.

Some of the gunshot, however, hit the wall of the building's roof and ricocheted patrons with several suffering very minor injuries.

An alarm was raised yesterday shortly after 11 pm when information was received that a group of Syrians attacked Israelis with stones in an area of Kato Pafos.

A strong police force rushed to the area and fortunately found that the motives and causes of the incident were only financial. Specifically, 4 young Syrians accompanied an Italian woman who works as a cleaner.

While driving their car, the Italian woman recognized on the street two Israelis who, she claims, she had cleaned an apartment for without paying her. The Italian woman started cursing them and the Syrians threw stones at them. When they were found and arrested in the Syrians' car, there were still stones.
