Police in Limassol arrested 13 people, during operations of the traffic squad overnight, they said on Wednesday.
According to police, in order to prevent juvenile delinquency and protect the property and physical integrity of citizens, patrols were carried out in areas of churches and parks, where there is a gathering of young people for the custom of lambradjiia and the use of firecrackers and other fireworks.
Also, as part of the prevention of theft and burglary, patrols and checks were carried out in other areas f Limassol, where 110 vehicles were stopped, and 124 persons were checked.
On two separate occasions, 13 young persons were arrested for negligent and reckless acts, of which three remained in custody, while 11 complaints for driving under the influence of alcohol and five out-of-court complaints for various other traffic offences were made during the traffic checks. Two vehicles were also impounded and two traffic cases were generated and will be filed in court.

Information about a grenade explosion in a house in Larnaka district raised the Police last night.
According to information, the throwing of the grenade took place in the courtyard of a house in Kiti in Larnaka District.
The explosion of the grenade, as we are informed, caused damage to the house, but did not injure any person.
The scene was cordoned off by the Police and placed under guard, while at the first light of day a team of pyrotechnics of the Police visited the house, where it was determined that the grenade was of high power.
The owners of the house are expected to give a statement within the day.

The Police in Larnaka were on the ground at dawn on Wednesday, after in addition to throwing a grenade, there was also an arson of a vehicle.
The fire, as we are informed, occurred in a car owned by a foreign person, who lives in Larnaca and was extinguished by the fire brigade, while it suffered minor damage.
The scene was cordoned off and placed under guard by the Police, while examinations revealed that the fire was set maliciously.
As we are informed, the owner in his statement stated that he does not suspect any person and has no differences with anyone.

Developments arise in relation to the attempted murder case against 34-year-old Dimitris Andronikos, known as Dimitroui, as a new piece of evidence is in the hands of the authorities.
As we are informed in the possession of the Police, there is a piece of weapon, which was found in Pervolia, Larnaka and it is believed that this is connected to this case.
It is recalled that the attempted murder occurred on April 23 on the Palaichori-Anthoupoli road, with authorities searching for the 11th person found on the list of suspects.
