PAPHOS MUNICIPALITIES

The municipality of Polis Chrysochous is the third largest in population in the Pafos district and the largest municipality in the Pafos constituency.

Before the local government reform it was the smallest municipality in population with fewer than two thousand voters. After the incorporation into the municipality of 13 communes of the district, the voters exceed five thousand.  In addition to the mayor, 14 deputy mayors and two councillors will be elected. 

The municipality of Pegeia-Akamas, which was the third most populous municipality of the province after the changes and the integration of Kissonerga and communities of Akamas, is now the smallest in population but the second largest in area.

There are barely more than four thousand voters. In addition to the mayor, they will elect 16 members of the city council, including six deputy mayors. 

The second largest municipality in Paphos remains the municipality of Geroskipou or East Pafos as it will now be called with the inclusion of four more communities to its east. 16 members of the city council will also be elected, five of whom will be deputy mayors.

Only one will be the deputy mayor in the metropolitan municipality of the province, the municipality of Pafos, where another 23 municipal councillors will be elected. The number of registered voters in the municipality of Pafos is close to 25 thousand, 24,991 to be precise.
