The Paphos Criminal Court on Wednesday sentenced a 43-year-old man from Paphos District to 8 years in prison, after finding him guilty of the charges of illegal possession and use of drugs, possession of drugs for the purpose of supply, money laundering.
According to an announcement by the Office of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters, the convicted person was arrested on November 25, 2023, when 250 grams of cocaine were found in his car in a check carried out by members of the YKAN (Klimakio Paphos), while another 750 grams were found in a search of his home.

An explosion occurred around 1:30 in the morning near a garage of a house in the area of Agios Mamas in Lakatamia, causing damage to a vehicle.
The explosive device was reportedly placed in a side area of a fenced garage, causing damage to one of the two vehicles belonging to a 31-year-old and a 31-year-old woman.
According to initial estimates, the explosion came from an improvised high-power explosive device.
The scene has been cordoned off, while police examinations are expected to continue at first light of day.
