A Larnaca-based criminal group trafficking large quantities of cocaine and cannabis believes it has been dismantled by the Anti-Narcotics Agency.
So far, YKAN Larnaca has arrested five people, including a mother and son, aged 54 and 19, as well as a 33-year-old man who is alleged to be the mastermind of the ring. It all started last Saturday night when members of the Police found after searching the car of a 19-year-old, a small amount of cannabis.

A search of the home where he lives with his mother followed and 2 kilograms and 623 grams of cocaine were found, as well as 2 kilograms and 733 grams of marijuana. Mother and son were arrested and remanded in custody by the Larnaca Court.
According to philenews, the drugs appeared to belong to the 19-year-old and were in plain sight in the house, with the 54-year-old arrested for facilitating interrogations. The investigation of the case revealed that behind the large quantity of drugs was a trafficking ring with activity that may go beyond the boundaries of the district of Larnaka.

This was followed by the arrest of a 25-year-old man and yesterday the police handcuffed a 33-year-old and a 20-year-old, who are expected to be brought before the Larnaca District Court within the day for the issuance of detention orders.
