Another minor was spotted driving a vehicle last night. In this case, as in two others last week, the driver was the child of migrants. His parents were called to the station where they picked up the child and the vehicle.

A 37-year-old Greek expatriate driving a car in the area of Chloraka was stopped last night by members of the Paphos OPE for inspection.

He tested positive on a drug test and a small amount of the chemical drug crystal was found in his possession. This particular driver was driven to the station in his car and will be charged with the receipt of the results from the state chemical laboratory.

Members of the Paphos Police Department carried out extensive checks yesterday on vehicle drivers throughout the district.

97 vehicles were stopped for inspection and almost 30 vehicles were checked. There were more than 30 complaints, mainly concerning traffic violations.

Police checks to prevent crime and road collisions will continue in the coming period.

The 24-year-old from Brazil, who was arrested at the airport on Saturday after it was found that she had swallowed a large quantity of cocaine destined for the Cypriot market, continues to be treated at Larnaka Hospital.

According to philenews, the young woman told members of the Drug Enforcement Administration that she swallowed 164 preparations containing about a kilogram of cocaine. So far she has miscarried about 40 of them, while she is under constant medical supervision since if any of them break, then her life will be in immediate danger. The 24-year-old had arrived at Larnaka airport on Saturday morning from Brazil via Doha.

Members of the YKAN, in cooperation with the Customs Authorities, in the context of the checks carried out to detect drugs, stopped it for inspection. Her luggage was searched and nothing objectionable was found, and she then reported having cocaine-containing drugs in her body.

A radiological examination followed at Larnaka General Hospital, where it was found that she had a number of foreign bodies on her body and she was detained for hospitalization. The woman was arrested and remanded in custody for eight days by the Larnaca District Court, in proceedings held at Larnaka General Hospital.

Interpol has been informed about the case, while the 24-year-old's contacts are under the microscope in order to identify the recipients of drugs in Cyprus.
