All General Stores falling within the scope of the Regulation of the Operation of Stores and the Conditions of Employment of their Employees Act shall remain closed on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, regardless of the fact that the particular holiday falls within the 10 days of Easter.
As the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance states in a statement, based on article 16 of the aforementioned legislation, May 1st is considered a holiday for store employees.
Therefore, according to the Ministry, "in the event that store employees (general or specialist) are called to work on the date in question, they should be compensated at a ratio of 1:2 for each hour worked, in addition to their normal daily wages."
