The roundabout in the Tala community of Paphos, leading from the community centre to Agios Neophytos Monastery and the luxurious settlement of Leptos Kamares Village, is now transformed into an open-air work of art. On the initiative of the Community Council and especially its president, Areti Pieridou and sponsored by the Leptos Group, the artist Yiota Ioannidou transformed the node into a work of art, with the main feature being the water element and its connection with the area and the everyday life of its people.
A bronze sculpture depicting a daughter surrounded by white pigeons, as well as other pigeons dominating different parts of the work that has been constructed, is the impressive result that has been completed these days and will be officially handed over to the public next week.
The central idea of the whole project, states to "F" the president of the C.S. Talas, Areti Pieridou, is to highlight the connection between man and nature. The roundabout of Tala, one of the busiest spots in the community due to its use to go to the famous Monastery of Agios Neophytos, but also to a place such as Leptos Kamares Village, she stressed, will now be a reference point and will create an impressive scenery, thanks to the addition to the artistic creation of a great creator, such as Yiota Ioannidou, In addition, the extensive use of the liquid element will dominate it.
The idea of the creator, with which we fully agreed as a community principle, said Areti Pieridou, was to highlight the close connection of the people of Tala with nature and with the water element. Especially, we wanted to highlight the issue of the many looms that exist in Tala and the water that has dried up from most of them nowadays.
We remind you that just the day before yesterday, a project by Yiota Ioannidou was inaugurated on the beach of Parekklisia in Limassol, at the initiative of the Limassol Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company, while her outdoor works adorn many points of interest of the city of Pafos since 2017.
