PHOTOVOLTAICS FOR ALL - 1200 APPLICATIONS IN FIRST DAY

 Filenews 2 March 2024

The President of the Republic expressed his satisfaction with the great interest expressed yesterday by households, on the first day of submission of applications for the Photovoltaics for All Scheme, which will allow the installation of photovoltaic systems up to 4.2 kilowatts without initial capital and with repayment of  €150 per two months, through EAC accounts.

In a tweet, President Christodoulides said: "The acceleration of the green transition and the penetration of RES is a goal to address energy accuracy as well."

He added that "I was informed about the increased interest of our fellow citizens in the "Photovoltaics for All" Scheme: 1,220 applications have been submitted by 6 pm.

The information indicates that a significant number of applications are not fully completed, which will obviously be done in the coming days. The submission of applications is expected to continue at a high pace in the coming period, as for thousands of households the installation of photovoltaics will allow from the first day of operation serious savings in the cost of electricity supply of the house, with a relatively low instalment for the repayment of the initial capital.

Those who will use Photovoltaics for All will also receive a state grant of 250 euros per kilowatt (instead of 375 euros granted in the "normal" plan, which provides for the payment of initial capital). In case of choosing a 4 kilowatt system, along with the thousand euros of sponsorship, the total cost of the system should not exceed 5 thousand euros, otherwise the additional amount will be required to be paid in advance by the consumer.

Professional installers participating in Photovoltaics for All are registered on the website of the RES and EE Fund.  https://resecfund.org.cy/en/home

Applications can only be submitted electronically through the website of the RES and EE Fund.
