An information and policing week with intensified traffic checks on truck and bus drivers is being carried out by the Police from tomorrow, Monday 19/02/2024 until Sunday 25/02/2024. The week of actions will be held on a pan-European level, by the member countries of the Roadpol European Traffic Police Network, and the focus will be on informing about the risks caused by non-compliance with the current legislation, as well as the intensification of traffic checks of offenses committed by truck and bus drivers. The technical and mechanical suitability of trucks and buses, the validity of drivers' and vehicles' documents, speed limiters and tachographs, and the observance of driving and working hours by professional drivers, will be points of reference for traffic controls. Emphasis will also be placed on violations that are proven to be major factors in causing serious and fatal road collisions, such as speeding violations and using a mobile phone while driving.
