Tomorrow, Saturday, farmers from Paphos will symbolically take to the streets with their tractors to show solidarity with their European counterparts who are mobilizing in EU countries these days and to highlight the difficulties faced by the sector in Cyprus.
The mobilization will take place at 10:00 am on the road from Amargetis to Galataria to Statos Agios Photios, and as their representatives emphasized, they will remain with their agricultural machinery at the intersection leading from Galatarias to Statos, without obstructing traffic in the area, but peacefully demonstrating.
The situation with agriculture problems, they stated, has now become a pan-European issue due to the high cost of production, the reduced prices imposed on producers by traders, and the difficulties created by escalating regional conflicts.
The farmers of Paphos, their representatives concluded, will call on the government tomorrow through their mobilization to take immediate action to prevent the worst and to allow the remaining farmers in Cyprus to continue in the primary sector of the economy.
