The launch of the third electric vehicle subsidy scheme, which aims to reduce emissions and pollution, was presented by the Minister of Transport, Alexis Vafeadis. The project with a total budget of €53 million. (available amount €36.5 million) receives EU funding and will start on 17 February 2024. It concerns the electrification of private vehicles (both large families and wheelchairs), taxis, minibuses, motorcycles, small vehicles, bicycles.
The sponsorship includes:
>Purchase of vehicles with zero CO2 emissions (pure electric vehicles).
>Scrapping of old polluting vehicles in combination with the subsidy for the purchase of low-carbon vehicles (with a CO2 emission limit of 50g/km).
>Withdrawal of old polluting vehicles in combination with the allocation of bus tickets and the payment of an additional lump sum.
>Purchase of electric bicycles (assisted cycling).
In private use
>1,228 grants amounting to €7,500 will be awarded for the withdrawal and replacement of a new low-CO2 vehicle (up to 50 g/km).
>1,827 grants of €9,000 will be awarded for a new vehicle with zero CO2 emissions.
>104 grants of €9,000 will be awarded for a used vehicle with zero CO2 emissions.
>The maximum purchase price for new low CO2 emission cars and pure electric cars (incl. VAT) is €80,000 and €35,000 (incl. VAT) for used pure electric cars – maximum purchase price.
In taxis
>30 grants of €12,000 will be awarded for the withdrawal and replacement of a new low-CO2 vehicle (up to 50 g/km).
>60 grants of €9,000 will be awarded for the purchase of a new vehicle with zero CO2 emissions.
Disabled vehicle beneficiaries
>30 grants of €15,000 will be awarded for the withdrawal and replacement of a new low-CO2 vehicle (up to 50 g/km).
>60 grants of €20,000 will be awarded for the purchase of a new vehicle with zero CO2 emissions.
Large families
>30 grants of €15,000 will be awarded for the withdrawal and replacement of a new low-CO2 vehicle (up to 50 g/km).
>60 grants of €20,000 will be awarded for the purchase of a new vehicle with zero CO2 emissions.
Minibuses
2 grants amounting to €40,000 will be given for the purchase of a new zero-CO2 vehicle, of category M2 (minibus with more than eight seats in addition to the driver and with a maximum mass of 5 tons).
Small cars & motorcycles (L6e, L7e, L)
>65 grants amounting to €4,000 will be awarded for the purchase of a new zero-CO2 vehicle, type micro-cars L6e (subcat. B) and L7e (subcat. C).
>893 grants of €1,500 will be awarded for the purchase of a new zero-CO2 motorcycle, type L motorcycles (excluding category L6e-B, L7e-B and L7e-C).
Bicycles, withdrawal versus tickets
>There will be 933 grants of €500 for a new electric bike.
>72 grants of €750 will be given for withdrawal against free tickets worth €250 and (for use on buses) AND a lump sum of €500.
Beneficiaries of applications are natural and legal persons.
Natural persons: 1 application for a car and 1 application for a motorcycle and 1 application for an electric bicycle and 1 application for free bus tickets.
Legal entities: Entitled to 20 applications only for new vehicles (cars, micro-cars and motorcycles) – de minimis rules apply
