MONTHLY ECONOMIC INDICATORS - JAN-DEC 2023
The Statistical Service
announces the publication of the bimonthly bulletin “Monthly Economic
Indicators" for the period January – December 2023. The bulletin
includes the most important short-term economic indicators for the Cyprus
Economy, for the latest months up to December 2023, as well as comparative
data for the last four years, which were available until the 14th of
February 2024. Note: The Trend component depicts the long-term evolution of the series, that can be observed over a long period of time. It is the result of influences such as population growth, technological development and general economic development. The Manufacturing sector during the period January - November
2023, recorded an increase of 3,3% compared to January - November 2022. The total area of Building
Permits Authorized reached 2.091,5 thousand square metres
during the period January – November 2023, recording an increase of 3,9%
compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The total registrations of Motor
Vehicles increased by 34,6%, reaching to 45.494 during the
period January - December 2023. Private saloon cars increased to 30.807,
recording a rise of 38,2% and light goods vehicles increased to 3.409
recording a rise of 8,2% compared to January - December 2022. The Consumer
Price Index increased by 3,5% during the period January -
December 2023, compared to the corresponding period of the previous
year. The total
Imports of Goods reached €12.764,2 mn during the period
January–December 2023, recording an increase of 11,3% and total
Exports of Goods reached €4.189,5 mn, recording a decrease of
0,5%. The Arrivals of
Tourists totaled 3.845.652 during the period January -
December 2023, compared to 3.201.080 in the corresponding period of 2022,
recording an increase of 20,1%. More statistics are available
