ETAP PAPHOS - CREATION OF ECOLOGICAL ROUTES. Interreg Euro MED Programme - MED-Routes Within the framework of the Interreg Euro MED European program entitled 'MED-Routes', representatives of the Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Paphos Region move on February 6-8 to the city of Faenza, Italy for the opening meeting of the project partners. The aim of the project is to strengthen sustainable cultural tourism of the Mediterranean, through the creation of ecological routes within the European Cultural Routes.

The general objective of the MED-Routes project is to create and transmit a Mediterranean model of sustainable tourism in 4 cultural routes in the Mediterranean area and the creation of a specific model of Mediterranean "slow tourism" that has its roots in the shared heritage of four Mediterranean cultural corridors.

The 4 cultural routes are 1) Cultural Route of ceramics 2) Cultural Route of the Phoenicians 3) Roads of Olive and 4) European Federation of Napoleonics of cities.

The project involves 8 European partners from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Greece, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Cyprus. The project is financed by 85% from the European Union. The duration of the program it is 27 months and the project budget amounts to €1 million. The fund attributable to ETAP Paphos amounts to €130,000.
