In recent days, churches and chapels in the area of Kato Paphos have been targeted by burglars.
Within the last 24 hours, unknown persons extorted money from the churches of Agios Georgios, Agia Marina, Agios Antonios, Faneromeni and Agios Agapitikos.
The perpetrators appear to be the same since they acted in the same way and at the same times.

The Paphos Police arrested two young men from Georgia to facilitate investigations into the case of the theft of a chain worth 10,000 euros from a jewelry store.
According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations, Michalis Nikolaou, on 10.5.23, a 54-year-old owner of a jewellery store in Coral Bay reported to the Peyia police station that a white gold chain worth €10,000 was stolen from her store.
Mr. Nikolaou told the KYPE, from examinations that had been carried out through the closed circuit, it appeared that the perpetrators were two who had entered the store around 11:00 as customers, one of whom employed the employee and the other allegedly snatched the chain. From further tests it is said that testimony against a 31-year-old man was secured and an arrest warrant had been issued against him and he was wanted.
Yesterday Friday at around 14:40 during a traffic control in the Geroskipou area, the Traffic Police stopped a vehicle in which the 31-year-old man was riding, who was arrested and taken into custody. He was accompanied in the vehicle by a 30-year-old man against whom testimony was allegedly obtained from photographic material obtained at the scene of the theft from the jewelry store that he was allegedly the second person involved in the theft of the chain.
This was followed by the arrest of the 30-year-old man, who was taken into custody. The examinations of the case continue while the two suspects were presented before the Paphos District Court, which issued a seven-day detention order against them to facilitate the investigations.

Members of the Special Motorcycle Platoon of the Traffic Headquarters Department stopped a vehicle driven by a 62-year-old man in Larnaca for inspection at dawn today.
The 62-year-old underwent an alcohol test with a final reading of 123μg%, instead of 22μg% which is the legal limit.
The 62-year-old was arrested for a flagrant offence and then released to appear before a court.
The Larnaka Traffic Police continues the examinations.

A 30-year-old man, who was wanted in connection with an ongoing case of assault and causing actual bodily harm, and causing malicious damage to property, was located and arrested on Friday afternoon, February 02, 2024, by members of the Police, pursuant to a court warrant. He was taken into custody, with the Larnaca ICF investigating.
According to the evidence under investigation, the offences were allegedly committed on December 06, 2023, in the district of Larnaka.
As part of the investigation of the case and in order to collect information that could help locate the 30-year-old suspect, his photo and details were released by the Police, earlier today, Friday, February 02, 2024.

A sixth suspect, aged 29, was identified and arrested this morning by the Police in connection with the case of assault and injury of a 26-year-old man, committed on January 06, in Limassol.
Five other suspects, aged 25, 24, 22, 18 and 17, had been identified and arrested in the previous days as part of an investigation into the case, while police are looking for a number of other suspects.
The attack, according to the evidence under investigation, took place in the early morning of January 6, 2024, in Limassol, when a 26-year-old man was allegedly attacked by a group of 15-20 people, from which he was seriously injured in the face.
The case is being investigated by the ICF of Limassol.
