Police arrested a 28-year-old man yesterday as part of an investigation into assault causing grievous bodily harm, illegal entry, threat and stabbing.
According to the evidence under investigation, at around 12 noon yesterday, while a 36-year-old woman was in a 46-year-old woman's apartment in Nicosia, the 28-year-old after breaking the door, entered the apartment holding a knife, and then attacked the 36-year-old causing her small abrasions on various parts of her body
The 46-year-old then entered the house, who was also wounded by the 28-year-old with the knife.
The 28-year-old suspect left the apartment, while the 46-year-old was taken to a private hospital, where he was found to have suffered injuries to his right arm and was detained for further treatment.
The suspect was then spotted walking in an area of Nicosia at around 2.45pm. was stopped by a member of the Nicosia Traffic Police. A 60cm long knife was found in his possession and he was arrested for the offence of stabbing.
A judicial arrest warrant was subsequently issued against him, under which he was arrested and detained to facilitate interrogations.

Around 3:15 p.m. yesterday, while members of the Limassol OPE were on motorized patrol, they stopped for inspection, a vehicle driven by a 60-year-old man in an area of Limassol.
In a subsequent search, 40 packets of tobacco, ten packets of heated cigarettes and ten packets of cigarettes, which are duty-free tobacco products, were found inside the vehicle.
The 60-year-old was arrested for the offence of illegal possession of duty-free tobacco products and taken to the Customs Department, which took over the case.
