A film script could be written based on the life of 57-year-old Kyriakos Economides from Yiolou, a peaceful family man who fate struck mercilessly.
In September 1999, while driving carefree on the Paphos-Polis road near the village of Mesogi, a truck with damaged brakes dragged his wife who was sitting in the passenger seat to her death .
The fetus she was carrying dies with her, while in that fatal accident five more people perished and Kyriakos was seriously injured.
A few years later, he marries Maha from Syria, with whom he has two children, aged 19 and 12, who lost their mother last August after a short battle with cancer.
The final blow for Kyriakos and his two children, who are orphaned by mother and father, comes on Christmas Day when in a road collision that again he had no responsibility for, he loses his life, after being hospitalized for a week in Nicosia General Hospital.
Despite their great grief, Kyriakos' children and other close relatives gave their consent and Kyriakos gives life to his fellow human beings by donating his organs.
