The Police continue to investigate the perpetrators of the arson of the vehicle of an officer of the Legal Service in Paphos, which focus on what may have been recorded by closed surveillance circuits.

As the Pafos Assistant Police Director of Operations, Michalis Nicolaou, told CNA, the investigations of the Pafos ICF focus on cases handled by the public prosecutor before a court and on persons who were either accused in them or had been presented in detention orders.

Nicolaou also said that CCTV checks continue at gas stations in the area adjacent to the scene.

According to CNA's information, searches were also carried out in cells of undertrials and convicts in the Central Prisons, as part of the investigation of recent criminal acts in Pafos, against public prosecutors and a police officer.

Moreover, as Mr. Nicolaou mentioned, for the purpose of thwarting and preventing various criminal offences committed in Pafos and mainly due to the recent serious incidents with arson against public prosecutors and a member of the Pafos Police Authority, a large-scale operation was carried out led by the Assistant Police Director of Pafos Administration and a total of 92 vehicles were intercepted between the hours of 19:00 on Thursday and 02:00 on Friday.

These checks resulted in 24 complaints, including possession of burglary tools, and four vehicle seizures.

These campaigns, Nicolaou told CNA, will be intensified in order to impose order and consolidate citizens' sense of security.

It is noted that due to criminal actions, meetings at the Police in Pafos follow one another.
