The Police in Limassol were mobilized in broad daylight with a chase of a wanted person on the busy Kolonaki Avenue in the area of Linopetra.
According to initial information from the Police, members of the Limassol OPE spotted during their patrol, a vehicle where the co-driver was a person against whom arrest warrants were pending from the Larnaca ICF. The vehicle did not have registration plates and members of the Force signalled the driver to stop.
However, the driver of the vehicle developed breakneck speed and driving negligently and recklessly, violating traffic signs and causing traffic accidents, fled. After the vehicle was stopped, however, the occupants fled.
Searches carried out in the area found the 35-year-old driver of the vehicle hiding nearby, who was taken to the Limassol Police Headquarters for questioning.

Two assassination attempts against businessmen and a fire in a public prosecutor's vehicle, are the accounts of the last two 24 hours.
Organized crime has taken a rampant turn with citizens' concerns becoming even greater as the three incidents occurred in densely populated areas.
Aglantzia
An attempted murder was committed around 5:15 pm on Monday (15/01), when an unknown person shot at a car in which a 49-year-old driver and two minor children were riding, on Larnakos Street in Aglantzia.
The 49-year-old's testimony was expected to give direction to the investigations, but he refused to give and went abroad.
The 49-year-old, who has previously engaged the police on serious matters, was not on the stop list and departed the airport normally.
Police are continuing their investigation by evaluating closed circuit surveillance.
Geri
The authorities were mobilized in the early hours of Tuesday (16/01), after shots were fired at a vehicle, outside the house owned by a businessman.
It was around 4:00 in the morning, when an unknown person or persons opened fire on a vehicle, in which was its owner, who works as a private security guard.
Of the three shots, no injuries were reported.
The businessman is the second time in a few days that he is the target of criminal activity. Investigations are being carried out by the Police to establish the motives and identify the perpetrators.
Paphos
A fire broke out on Tuesday night (16/01) in a car belonging to a Public Prosecutor of the Paphos District Court.
The car was parked in the parking lot of the apartment building where the Public Prosecutor lives in Paphos.
The fire was extinguished by the Fire Service and prima facie it appears that the fire was started maliciously.
The vehicle was completely destroyed, while extensive damage was caused to two other cars parked next to the first one.
It should be noted that this is the second fire that the Public Prosecutor in Paphos has been attacked. The previous bombing took place on 20 December.

An unknown person threw a stone at a police vehicle, causing damage to the rear glass of the vehicle.
According to information from the Press Office of the Police, the incident took place during the departure of fans from yesterday's game at GSP Stadium, Omonia 29 with Anorthosis for the Coca-Cola Cup, which ended 2-0 in favour of Anorthosis.
Police are investigating the case.

A quantity of cannabis exceeding one kilogram was seized yesterday by the Police in Paphos, whose members proceeded to arrest two persons to facilitate interrogations.
Around 4pm yesterday, members of the YKAN (Pafos District Unit) signaled a car driver, who was moving on a road in the Paphos district, to stop for checking. However, the driver of the vehicle tried to flee at speed, as a result of which he collided with a police vehicle and came to a standstill. It was found that two persons, aged 49 and 47, were in the vehicle, both from Larnaca.
In their attempt to escape, the passenger of the vehicle was seen throwing a nylon bag on the ground. The bag was received by members of the Police and a quantity of cannabis, with a gross weight of 1270 grams, was located and confiscated.
The car in which the two people were travelling was also searched, in which a small amount of cannabis and a small amount of cocaine were found.
Judicial arrest warrants were issued against the 49-year-old and 47-year-old, under which they were arrested and detained to facilitate interrogations.
