364 MIGRANTS ARRIVE BY BOAT IN A COUPLE OF DAYS

The flows of Syrian migrants by sea have increased in the last twenty-four hours, alarming the competent services.

According to philenews information from the Ministry of Interior, from Saturday, December 30, 2023 until New Year's Day, 364 migrants arrived in our country by sea with 7 boats, while another 28 crossed into the free areas from the occupied areas. The vast majority of them are Syrians, who were transferred to the Pournara Accommodation Centre in Kokkinotrimithia.

The last boat with migrants was spotted at noon on New Year's Day in the area of Cape Greco. A total of 136 people were on board, including 26 children and 21 unaccompanied minors.

Police arrested a 25-year-old man who was allegedly the boat's pilot.
