The procedures for the tender for the major project of creating a marina in Paphos are now expected at the end of the year, ie in a few days time.
Speaking to "F", the president of the Pafos Chamber of Commerce, George Mais, clarified that at the moment the procedures regarding the submission of bids for the house of experts that will prepare the offer forms have been completed.
If there are no objections by the end of April 2024, Mr. May said, the evaluation and award of the tender is expected and then the processes for the preparation of the tender forms will begin. By the end of 2024, the tenders will be completed, so we will know the successful investor, he noted.
The President of the Pafos Chamber of Commerce and Industry reiterated that despite many years of delays and setbacks, the Pafos marina is a project of paramount importance for Pafos, as it will enrich its tourist product, enhance nautical tourism, and assist the other marinas in Cyprus in fulfilling their role.
Mr. May revealed that he recently had personal contact with the President of the Republic who assured him that the procedures are being promoted quickly and that the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the Government in general will do whatever is necessary to proceed as soon as possible with the project, since, as Nikos Christodoulides stressed, this is part of the state's strategy for tourism.
As recently announced by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, said George Mais, three economic operators submitted bids regarding the Tender for the purchase of consulting services for the Pafos Marina project in the Potima area of Kissonerga. Following this, the selected experts will be responsible for preparing the tender documents, with a view to finding a strategic investor for the development of the project.
