Paphos with the cleanest bathing waters in Europe, with the entire coastline being awarded the "Quality Beach" award since 2013 and with 18 Blue Flag beaches, figures the year that ends in a few days as one of the 100 greenest destinations in Europe, creating a great legacy for the coming years.
Officials of the tourism industry speak of an important and coordinated long-term effort by everyone in the province, in order to reach today the point where Pafos receives international distinctions of environmental form.
However, the efforts do not stop, they stress, since although our beaches and the sea space are very important components of the destination and although in recent years important steps have been taken to upgrade them, nevertheless further investments are still required both in furniture, accessibility and services offered in order to maintain the distinction of green destination.
