Labour Minister Yiannis Panayiotou announced a while ago that a new decree is being issued setting a new national minimum wage of €1,000 gross, after six months of employment in the same company. The current minimum is €940 gross.
The government decided to slightly increase the national minimum wage when hiring a worker, from €885 gross today to €890.
The government did not accept the unions' demand for hourly minimum wage reimbursement.
