Awareness campaign by the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism, Completed successfully
Cyclists and motorists, Let's share our roads safely!
The Pafos Regional Board of Tourism, in collaboration with the cycling groups, Pafos and Evagoras Pallikaridis, have completed these days a campaign with the title ''Let's share our roads safely'' - Share the road, save a life.
The main aim of the campaign was to convey the message to both cyclists and motorists, that the road users can share the roads, respect each other, so that cycling can be carried out safely. Messages that derive from the Road Traffic Code and have been approved by the Paphos Police -Traffic Department, to whom we are very grateful.
The campaign was designed in Greek and English and it was promoted mainly to the public of the Pafos district. Primarily uses short duration spots and banners on social media and info platforms, through announcements, interviews, etc.
This action for 2023 was within the framework of the initiatives to promote the title of the European Capital of Smart Tourism 2023 but due to its great success will be continue in 2024.
Through this initiative and with a relatively small budget of €2000, more than 270,000 (reach) people saw the content of our campaign while the campaign achieved 1,300,000 (impressions) number of times our ad was viewed on a user's Facebook timeline. In addition more than 570,000 users had some kind of interaction with the ads/messages.
The Pafos Regional Board of Tourism, and all involved parties, are supporting and actively promoting cycling tourism, therefore this effort is inextricably linked to the friendliness that the province should have to cyclists as a cycling destination, but also to the general strategy to use the bicycle as an environmentally friendly alternative form of transport.
