A 42-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon and wanted to facilitate questioning in connection with an ongoing case of grievous bodily harm and injury.
According to a police statement, the offences in question were committed on May 20, 2021.

A Limassol resident reported yesterday to the Police that unknown persons were allegedly stealing scaffolding from a building being erected in a village in the Limassol district.
Members of the Pachna Police Station went to the spot, where they spotted five people placing scaffolding in a car.
During the check that followed, it was found that the above five persons were not in possession of any documents proving their identity and were taken to the Episkopi Police Station for identity verification.
As it was found, these are three asylum seekers, while for the other two persons, as it was found, the asylum application was rejected and they were staying illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
Subsequently, the above persons were arrested on the basis of court warrants and detained, while the Pachna Police Station continues the examination.

A 33-year-old person is wanted by the Paphos Police to facilitate the investigations regarding an investigated cable theft case.
According to the Assistant Police Director of Operations of Paphos Michalis Nikolaou on December 3 it was reported by a 60-year-old employee of the Municipality of Paphos that on the same day around 15:00 in the afternoon he spotted in the fenced area at the Green point in the Muttalou area that work is being carried out to shape the area there , a person detaching cables from a container that was there.
The alleged suspect fled, but his car was located, and as established based on the vehicle's registration number, he is a 33-year-old permanent resident of Cyprus. An arrest warrant was issued against the 33-year-old and he is wanted.
The tests to identify him are continuing.

Nineteen cases were investigated by the family violence unit of the Paphos Police Directorate in November, according to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations, Michalis Nikolaou.
In his statements to the Cyprus News Agency, Mr. Nikolaou said that out of the 19 cases, 14 were registered before the Paphos District Court and arrest warrants were issued against 15 people, while 14 people were arrested.
Additionally, Mr. Nikolaou told KYPE, an arrest warrant is pending. In addition, exclusion decrees were issued for 14 persons.
Mr. Nikolaou mentioned that the echelon also receives complaints by mail coming from various departments or government agencies. He added that the importance given to the coordination of the Police is great, while special importance is given to the cooperation with the Social Welfare Services and the hospitals for the treatment of the victims.

The Police recommend the public's attention to phone scams through the WhatsApp application, where fraudsters falsely pretend to be the Cyprus Police.
Specifically, fraudsters through the communication application – WhatsApp, call unsuspecting citizens to a video call, falsely pretending to communicate on behalf of the Police.
The communication is done in English and the professionals ask the citizens to declare their various personal and banking details. (Demonstration of ID, debit/credit cards, etc.).
The aforementioned phone calls are the product of fraud and do not come from the Police.
The public is asked to be particularly careful and:
NOT to respond to calls and instructions received from fraudsters.
Not respond to any links sent.
Do not reveal to others, codes that they may have received on their mobile phone.
In case bank data were declared during such a call, the public should IMMEDIATELY inform their Banking Institution to avoid unwanted use of their data.
