Members of the Paphos Police arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with cases of theft and illegal possession of property, as well as possession of drugs.

The 30-year-old suspect, against whom a court arrest warrant had recently been issued, in connection with cases of theft of a mobile phone and theft of money from a bank account using a stolen credit card, was spotted by members of the Pafos ICF, being trafficked by bicycle in an area in Kato Paphos, around 11.30 noon on Friday and proceeded to arrest him.

The theft of the mobile phone and credit card, which was then used in five shops and kiosks in Paphos, was reported to the Police in Paphos last September. Examinations revealed evidence against the 30-year-old suspect.

Immediately after the suspect's arrest, ICF members searched and found in his possession a number of jewellery such as rings, neck chains, a bracelet, a pair of earrings, and a number of watches, two mobile phones, and other property that is being investigated if it is stolen. They also found in the suspect's possession, burglary tools, a number of knives, and a small amount of a crystalline substance, believed to be methamphetamine.

The 30-year-old was also arrested by members of the police for the offenses of illegal possession of property, possession of burglary tools, stabbing, and possession of drugs. He was detained for the purpose of police examinations, with the Paphos ICF investigating.

The arrest of two people, who were allegedly caught in the act while trying to steal the church donation box, proceeded the Police in Kato Pyrgos Tyllirias.

Specifically, according to the president of the community of Kato Pyrgos Tyllirias, Nikos Kleanthous, the two suspects were allegedly noticed by citizens at the church of Agia Irini in Kato Pyrgos Tyllirias while they were trying to steal the box of contributions.

The Police arrested a 26-year-old resident of Larnaca today to facilitate investigations into the shooting case, which occurred yesterday afternoon in Nicosia.

The 26-year-old was arrested under a court arrest warrant issued against him based on testimony obtained during police questioning.

According to the evidence under consideration, at around 11.20 a.m. Yesterday, a driver parked his car on a street in the capital and after firing five to six shots in the air, fled.

The 26-year-old is expected to appear today before the Nicosia District Court for a detention order.

A foreigner detained at the police station of Polis Chrysochous attacked a police officer and slightly injured him.

According to information, the detainee unnecessarily attacked and beat the police officer serving at the station in the area. The foreigner detained for other cases will also be charged with the attack.

Turkish Abdulkadir Yavuz, who attempted to flee the occupied area after firing two shots at a parked vehicle in occupied Nicosia on December 27, 2023, was arrested at the illegal airport of occupied Tymbou on December 27, 2023.
