The "Avakas Gorge" trail in the Akamas National Forest Park is closed as of today, Friday, for public safety reasons, according to the Department of Forests.
According to an announcement by the Department, due to the increased water flow, the slippery terrain but also due to the risk of falling rocks and volumes of soil, the "Avakas Gorge" in the Akamas National Forest Park will remain closed until the danger passes for visitors.
The Department of Forests apologizes for any inconvenience to the public, noting that "the closure is necessary for its safety."
He also points out that he will come back with a new announcement when the gorge will be completely safe for visits.
