At the scene of the discovery of human bones in Akamas, the process of examination by specialists was completed.
According to the spokesperson of the Pafos Police Department and head of the Pafos ICF, Michalis Nicolaou, the examinations were carried out by forensic pathologist Nicholas Charalambous and anthropologist of the ICF.
A scattered number of bones that make up the main part of a human skeleton were identified and received, he said, as well as clothing. Evidence also found at the scene, according to Nicolaou, suggests that it is the skeleton of a 69-year-old foreign permanent resident of Pafos who has been missing from his home since April 2023.
His identity, however, he concluded, will be verified through genetic tests.
The ICF of Pafos continues to investigate the causes of death.
NB There is no suspicion of foul play.
