PAPHOS - 31-YEAR OLD FROM SOMALIA, PLACED IN NURSING HOME

 Pafos Press 17 November 2023

The decision of the competent state welfare services to place a young man, aged 31, a political asylum seeker, as an inmate in a ward of a nursing home in Pafos causes many questions and concerns.

In particular, this is a young man from Somalia who has been residing as an inmate for a week at the Nefeli Taliotou State Home for the Aged and Disabled in Chloraka, which is administratively under the Paphos Welfare Office.

This development raises a lot of question marks and concerns, since according to information the particular young man allegedly returned to Paphos after his stay in a drug addiction center.

As PafosPress is able to know, instead of being accommodated in a hospitality structure, the young man was "placed" in the specific Nursing Home, which creates questions and also upset both the staff and the relatives of the elderly who are in the nursing home.

Pafos Press duly contacted the Paphos Welfare Office, presenting the specific information to the Directorate, without however receiving any response.
