Now the static insufficient information signs are replaced with smart, eco-friendly, distinctive and interactive signs
The Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Paphos Region, continuing its efforts to upgrade the tourist experience and implement actions that contribute to the transformation of the Paphos district into a smart destination (SMART destination), recently completed the Fourth Phase of information digitization and the installation of another 24 smart signs presenting important points of interest including the highlighting of centuries-old trees.
After initially scanning the QR code, the user/visitor can choose from his smart device the language of his choice, while he is offered a wide range of information options from rich photographic material, video, 360 tour etc. In the case of centuries-old trees, in addition to the above, information is provided on each tree, on the protection of forests, the advantages that trees offer to humans and nature, the life cycle of trees, etc.
The fourth phase included the installation of 24 such signs in various areas and points of interest in the Paphos district such as in Empa, Chloraka, Theletra, Tsada, Choulo, Kallepia, Galataria, Kouklia, Letymbou, Kathika, Drousia, etc.
This innovative action is expected to continue in 2024 with the fifth phase.
